it's a zoo in here.

it seems like we can totally relate to being the zookeeper from time to time. there are wild apes and lions running around all over the place.

the ears on ava crack me up.

 so many things to see including the newest member "leo pold" the lion. mama and daddy are vey proud.

 and tons of goofing around.

 lots of pictures like this one as ava has a need to snap her own point of view.

she takes a really good picture. but, who do you think that blondie belongs to? hard to believe both paul and i had golden lockes at one time.

couldn't leave without a picture of ava as well.

word to the wise

be careful where you step. that's about all i can say. except. oww. oww. owwwwww. oww. oww.

vintage finds in the closet

so, really truly, how old am i that i can say there are vintage finds in my childhood closet??? today, i pulled out dolly pops. so sweet!  

 ava loved them.

 hudson loved them for a while.

 then he loved the box for a while.

and then, making motor sounds with the toyshop and a piece of the cardboard box.

a pretty sweet find that i can even remember playing with myself. but, let's be honest.....they were made even before i was born! so, really truly, i am not that old!

just like grandpa

as he was walking by the table where grampa was sitting, he noticed that his hat was abandoned and it was a perfect fit for his little head.

it's a cow, it's a farmer, it's super boy!

on the ride home from the dairy breakfast, my daughter turned to me and said 'he's my superboy. he'll hold my hand.'

seriously, mom! how does this work! 

i'll take good care of her. let's take her home.

bloom where you stand

there is just something about these giant blooms that come in every shade of pink and that create a smell that perfumes the whole backyard. i am just crazy in love with them.
